10 Reasons to Choose Dental Impants over Dentures

Pi Dental Center in Fort Washington, PA has posted an interesting and straightforward article describing ten reasons you might want to consider dental implants instead of dentures:

1) Improved appearance

2) Improved confidence

3) Comfort and convenience

4) Durability

5) Improved eating

6) Improved taste

7) Improved nutrition and health

8) Improved speech

9) Reduced chance of loss

10) Bone growth

All of these are great reasons to choose dental implants, and I always offer them as a potential solution to my Orlando customers. What has to also be factored in though is cost. A mouth full of dental implants will set you back a tidy sum, and in these tough economic times it is sometimes necessary to make tradeoffs. Dentures are a great option for many of my Orlando and central Florida clients who don’t want to take on additional debt or break the bank.

Dental Implant Tourism

In the UK and around the world patients are increasingly traveling overseas to visit the dentist. They’re heading to places like Hungary and other Eastern European countries, where brass plaques and molar-shared signs bearing easy to grasp names like “Eurodent” and “Happy Dent” line central streets. In the town of Mosonmagyarovar (population 33,000) there are over 150 dentists. But to save thousands of dollars on dental implants, many Western Europeans are finding it worth the trip.

Small-Diameter Implants Increasingly Popular

Massachusetts-based Millennium Research Group recently found that the market for small-diameter (less than 3.0 mm) dental implants grew by more than 30% in the United States during 2007, outpacing regular-diameter dental implants. Patients often prefer the small-diameter to large-diameter dental implants because they involve less surgical time and are a more cost-effective option. Also, small-diamater dental implants usually require fewer steps to place and can be placed noninvasively, making them a simpler solution.
