Use of dental implants grows, eduation remains the key
DentalEconomics.com has posted an interested article about dental implants which describes the importance of patient education. However, it also includes a few interesting statistics.
- Nearly seven in 10 americans between the ages of 35 to 44 have lost at least one tooth due to an accident, gum diseas, or tooth decay.
- by age 74, more than 25% of American adults have lost all of their permanent teeth.
- One to three percent of implants will not take hold.
The article also discusses a variety of factors the patient should consider when pursuing dental implants, such as how there are a variety of different dental implant technologies/options to choose from, and that some paths may be more successful than others for a particular individual.
